What Do You Want to See?

Laura at VitaminSea has come up with another great idea that I would love to take part in. I will quote from her blog because I have homework to finish:

"Sometimes we take our hometowns for granted. For example, right now the leaves are starting to turn up north, and I would LOVE to see that, but I can't get up there. I'd like to see YOUR hometown or neighborhood or other scenic areas at this time of the year. How does the scenery differ from NC to Virginia or California or Texas? what about the different parts of Florida?
Would you all like to join me in a photographic meme of sorts? I know it's been done on other blogs, but it would be fun to do it again.Ask me in the comment section what you would like to see photos of in my area. Taking into account the driving distances, and other factors, I'll oblige within reason."

So drop me a comment and tell me what you want to see of my homeland (if you haven't figured it out yet, I live in North Florida) and I will post the pictures NEXT weekend! While you're at it, go ahead and visit Laura's blog (linked above) for a nice list of links to other blogs participating in the game. Enjoy!

Where in North Fla are you? Not to get too specific so as to invade on your privacy, but I just wasn't sure. I would love to see photos of the rivers up near you, as I remember the photos you took on your kayaking expeditions. Those photos show people a side of Florida that they might not know exists!

Or, in your neighborhood and hometown, are there any beautiful churches, parks or architecture to see, beyond the awful and predominant strip mall that is so prevalent all over the state?

Well I live in Northeast Florida between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. We have some really nice countryside around here and I can go out to to creeks and into the woods within a reasonable distance east of the St. Johns (it's really hard for me to get to the west bank of the St. Johns...it's a long drive south or north to even get to a bridge.) I'm at your command!

What about some scenic highway 13 shots overlooking the St. Johns?

You got it...I might go down around Picolata; it's still really nice there. However, a lot of the river shots have been screwed up by big mansions now.

What about some birds?

paintsmh - Thanks for stopping by! I've got plenty of those! Hopefully I can get pictures of some of the yankee birds here for the winter. I'm going to update probably tomorrow morning and tell about what's going on with this little photo request thing. I had hoped for more requests than this...

More requests, huh? Okay, let's see, reptiles, fish, insects, mammals, any wildlife at all. Always fun to see what critters live in areas that I'll likely never visit.

Got plenty of those, too. You can check back in some of my archives...I have some pictures back there you can see.
