Okay, I am Breaking the News

If you read my comment on thingfish's Taming of the Band-Aid blog, you already know this news, but just in case...

...ahem...

I am moving. Don't fret, though, I'm staying in my home! I am leaving my house, but staying in my home. I will be moving to somewhere here in my part of Florida...hopefully to a place with less people and less traffic (for now at least.) My parents want a bigger house (God only knows why) and both my mom and I want a more peaceful place than where we are now...we want to live on a swamp.

So, maybe, hopefully, my surroundings will include more of nature than it does now.

For now, though, I apologize for the fact that my posts have been rather un-interesting in the past week or so. I have not been in the swamp for 3 weeks now, so I don't have too many stories to tell you. My dad and I are planning to get out next week, and maybe I can get some interesting stuff for you.

I hope you find a place that is exactly what you want....it is so hard to live with throngs of people rushing around you. We lived in town for fifteen years before moving here to the farm and I simply hated it.

Well my parents still want to live in suburbia, so I will not get what I want...but my mom insists upon our house backing up to a swamp, so that will be good. My house is right off of what used to be a little country road, but is now a 4-lane superhighway. The traffic's real loud, and that's our main reason for moving. At least it will be quieter.

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm with mom. Living in town was AWFUL. THANK GOD for the country! Hope you enjoy your new place. At least they aren't moving you up here with us northerners. You might just freeze.

HT, I was talking about you as my family and I enjoyed some bodacious Minorcan clam chowder at Schooners Saturday, and yes, as I thought my Dad knows Stuart P.
My Mom said to ask if you were related to Bootie Pacetti. She knows her.

What's this about moving?

paint - Yes, thank God for the country. If it wasn't for few swamps and potato farms left around here for me to go to, I would be going crazy with all this urban sprawl.

FC - YES! I GOT TALKED ABOUT OVER THE FC DINNER TABLE!! *clears throat* Yes, yes, indeed. It does not surprise me at all to hear that your dad knows Mr. Pacetti...just about everybody else does.

Bootie sounds extremely familiar, and I think she may be a close relation...but if you're a Pacetti in St. Augustine, I AM related to you...I'll get back to you on that.

I'll have more details on the moving later.

BTW, a part of my family (the McQuaigs) owns Schooners and the Minorcan Datil products. If you ever make it there on a Wednesday, get the fried chicken special...It's to-die-for, and there's so much you don't even know where to start.

Thanks to you both for stopping by!

I hope y'all find a place that suits eveyone, even if it isn't your ideal. Have you checked craigslist? Occasionally, something great pops up there.

Re the banana spiders... Those who think they're poisonous must be confusing them with the Brazilian wandering spider, which is sometimes called banana spider. Or they assume that, because the argiope's venom is similar to a black widow's, it must be deadly. We had a pretty cool orb weaver right outside the back door for a while. I welcomed her, as she contributed to reducing the number of insects trying to get in.

I finally got something vaguely resembling a post put up. It's been a wild and crazy week around here. Hopefully, things will settle down soonly. 8-}

paint - ha ha. Nothin like the Schooner's fried chicken special! My brother took my grandma there for her birthday today.
